The Las Vegas Hostel welcomes guests, travelers and backpackers from anywhere outside of Nevada and many guests do not speak English. The Hostel offers dorm style accommodations as well as private rooms and a stay at the Hostel includes breakfast and coffee/tea. A front desk position at the Hostel offers the opportunity to interact and build relationships with guests from all over the world.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Welcome guests to the Hostel and provide high level of service
  • Assist guests with booking, modifying or canceling reservations
  • Checking guests in and out of the Hostel
  • Settle guest’s accounts/bills and collect correct method of payments
  • Answer basic property and DTLV questions and provide information
  • Respond to guest requests, complaints and concerns
  • Cash handling and daily reporting
  • Assist with booking tours, shuttles, etc.
  • Morning shift prepares breakfast for Hostel guests
  • Minor cleaning tasks, including folding linen and terry
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned


  • Outstanding communication and active listening skills, bilingual a plus
  • Self motivated with upbeat and outgoing personality

  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Ability to effectively work in environment of diversity in background, skills and needs of guests and co-workers



  • Two (2) years experience in customer and/or guest service: Hospitality or retail, with high level of customer/guest interaction
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google, email and property management systems knowledge preferred
  • Previous experience with cash handling and reporting
