Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with developing and implementing human resources initiatives aligned with overall business strategy
  • Maintain current knowledge of state, local and federal employment laws such as EEO, ADA, FMLA, OSHA, WC and UC
  • Enthusiastically support, promote and demonstrate the company’s Core Values in all interactions
  • Analyze data to create reports, presentations and make recommendations for human resources best practices
  • Assist with processing payroll efficiently and accurately
  • Research and resolve payroll related issues or questions
  • Assist with monitoring hours of part time employees for benefits eligibility compliance
  • Assist with monitoring overtime hours and make recommendations to management team
  • Establish productivity reports and standards for hourly employees
  • Ensure all payroll transactions are authorized and in compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Maintain knowledge of overtime rules and regulations
  • Assist with the processing of new hires, entering employee information into HRIS accurately and benefits administration
  • Assist with employee file audits and maintenance in HRIS
  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality of all payroll and human resources records and correspondence
  • Assist with processing unemployment compensation claims, coordinating claim documentation and data entry responses to state requests
  • Assist with facilitating identified training programs for properties including, but not limited to: new hire orientation, customer service and leadership and development training
  • Work closely with property management team to understand business and opportunities to assist in developing human resources initiatives
  • Assist with Workers’ Compensation injury reporting and ensure that proper documentation is received and processed
  • Support company safety program and OSHA policies and procedures
  • Assist with processing requests for FMLA and LOAs
  • Assist with the interactive ADA process
  • Assist with recruiting and selection activities such as creating job descriptions, posting open positions, conducting pre-employment reference checks, initiating background checks and phone screen interviews
  • Conduct exit interviews and assist with analyzing turnover reports and provide recommendations based on findings
  • Assist with design and execution of communications to the team such as newsletters, flyers, emails and company social media groups
  • Other human resources projects and duties as needed

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of state, local and federal employment laws
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Suite


  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or other relevant degree preferred
  • Two to four (2 – 4) years of related Human Resources experience
  • PHR/SPHR certification preferred
  • Previous experience working with ADP, Workforce Now strongly preferred
